What is an iframe and how to find them
Placed in PTS/PTC, Tips |Iframes are becoming one of the most malignant threats facing PTR members and POs.

There are some very helpful tools to detect their presence. This is a short list of the main ones:
Copy and paste the url in question and most of the time you will get a result. Please remember that it is a tool and will not be 100% accurate. There are ways for iframes to avoid this detector.

The Mvent script that can be used with most browsers is located here. This site is also a great resource for iframe information in an easy to understand format.

For decoding the javascript that loads 0 iframes there are several descriptors:

If you use Firefox, the extensions: JSView View Dependancies FireBug View Formatted Source and Web Developer can be very helpful although they can be confusing to work with. I do recommend them for anyone who is already working with iframe detection.
Sadly, there are still ways that many can use to escape detection by any of those means. It is a work in progress to keep up with them. This list will be updated as often as necessary when new tools become available.
